Syleah….

Oh Wow! What can I say…first things first…Congrats to Ms Syleah, on her most recent graduation from the University of Alabama (class of 2012)!! Not only is this young lady gorgeous but she is super smart, and fashion savvy (be sure to check out her shoes on the railroad tracks). The opportunity to photograph her was so much fun. She had her outfits planned out to perfection, flawless makeup, an assistant (her mom lol), and a smile that any photographer would love.

The one thing, out of many, that stood out about Syleah was her personality. With some people you come across you have an instinct that they are just all around good people. That is the instinct that I had with Syleah, she is just all around good people. Syleah was open to try everything and was just as excited about the session as I was. her attitude was positive and at the same time generous. She was willing to give what it took to get great shots and she was a champ in tall heels and rocks :-) . Overall we had a great time during this session and I believe the outcome was fantastic.

One of the absolute most beautiful families ever…The Mills

Have you ever met a family that was totally in sync? Have you ever met a family where not only they were family but they were genuine friends as well? Have you ever met a family that was genuinely just all around nice AND supportive?? I have and that family is the Mills (Owens/Purdue) and I can honestly say that I love them all to pieces.

This shoot was a lot of fun…I mean really …a lot of fun! I believe Mama Mills out shined them all :-) . Not only was she photogenic but she made the most fun out of it.Tiffany was the true diva (in a good way!) and knew exactly how to pose and ultimately be the perfect model. Stephanie was the happy one with the genuine smile. Ms. Kenny…what can I say…she was serious one minute and when the camera lens fell on her….she broke out the cover girl smile. Dont let me forget to mention the interaction between them all that truly showed how great they are as a family, their beautiful personalities and how wonderful they are to each other.

I had a great time catching the smiles and the laughs of this fabulous family. I am truly appreciative of how supportive this family is of me and their friendship over the years. I soooo look forward to photographing this family again in the future. The Beauty of Love between a Mother and Son…

Two of my favorite clients are Ms. Keneisha and Mr. Brayden Harris. Not only do Keneisha and Brayden love pictures but they have a great love for each other and it shows. It is fun to see the gentleness and playfullness between the two. It is fun to see the kindred spirits and the sweetness. It is fun just to be in their company. I overly enjoy the relationship that I have built with these two. I love the texting and sharing with Keneisha and the genuine hugs from Bray Bray when I see them out. It means alot when Bray Bray will tell others that Ms. Tiffanie is his photographer all the way at Disney World :-)

This week I am posting a few more photos from their session. Initially I just posted the Sneak Peek but now I finally get to share a full post. During this session after Keneisha’s long spill about not liking to take pictures by herself and her pictures never turning out good….I got to actually photograph Keneisha by herself…and……she loved the pics…lol! check them out below along with the photos of her and Brayden that beautifully show the beauty of the Love between a Mother and Son.

While on my way to my session with Syleah she sent me a text indicating that her mom wanted to tag along. I replied back that it was cool but be sure to tell your Mom to be ready to jump into a few shots herself. The results I must say are fantastic!

This Mother and Daughter Duo were great! Mrs Allen worked the sidelines of the session by coaching Syleah …. which worked out great because after all who knows Syleah best? her Mom!!

After Part 1 of the shoot I was able to get a few shots of the two of them together. I must say it is great to see a mother and daughters love and friendship. I am so happy to have had a chance to capture this because after all one day in the future this is going to be a great picture to have and reminisce over. Not to mention, the timing is great… it is a great Mother Day gift for Mrs. Allen because afterall a picture holds memories and speak millions of words. I think they will be happy to look back at this picture and smile. What do you think? Speaking of which what are you getting your Mom for Mother’s Day? A picture is always a great gift!

How cool is it to be married on 11/11/11 (November 11th, 2011)? How memorable is it to have an anniversary that is so unique?

Around the world there were tons of weddings on this date and I am happy and honored to say that I got a chance to particpate in all of the celebration. With my friend and fellow photographer Oscar Matthews (Oscar Matthews Photography) I was able to photograph (2nd shoot) the super POSH, the super FABULOUS, the super STYLISH wedding of Kamilah and Charles Lewis. Everything about this wedding was 1st class. From the beautiful bride, the handsome groom, the beautiful details…everything I tell you Everything!!!! This wedding was truly a dream brought to life.

Although I was working I had a great time seeing fellow Auburn Alumni (WAR EAGLE!), family, and friends. I had so much fun photographing the event that  I had to share a few of the many pictures that were taken from that day. I hope that you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.

The Distinguished…THE Mr. Oscar Matthews!

Do you know what one of the hardest things for any photographer to do is? In my opinion it is to photograph another photographer…Why?? because they can tell when and where you may make a mistake!! With that said I photographed my second photographer. The first was my friend Ms. Saadia Me’chel…. This second shoot was with photographer and friend  Mr. Oscar Matthews of Oscar Matthews Photography.

I met Oscar through our wonderful wonderful mentor (ROK):-). From the first time we met I believe Oscar and I connected because we both lived in the same city (we met in GA) and we both shared a love of photography. We officially connected while shooting with our mentor last year at 6th Ave. Baptist Church for a wedding. After that Oscar reached out to me last year to assist with shooting a wedding that he contracted….that was the beginning of a great photographic relationship. From there I assisted on other projects and recently we collaborated on a photographic exchange. I photographed him and he worked on a promo for me (stay tuned….I will post this in the upcoming weeks). But needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed photographing Oscar and I am very happy for our friendship.

There were two parts to this shoot…and from these shoots we walked away with tons of great pictures. It was very hard to narrow down which ones to show…but of the ones I chose I hope that you enjoy!

PS. I think Oscar can go into modeling….what do you think??

When A Man Loves A Woman…… Lonnie Malone – The Malone’s Part 2

This is the story of Mr. Lonnie Malone! I met Lonnie and his wife Lynn at a mutual friends baby shower (Karmen Moon) back in July/August of 2011. We actually shared the same table. The pictures that I had taken for Karmen’s maternity session were being displayed overhead on a projector. As the pictures were displayed,  Lonnie and his wife spoke of having their family portraits taken. Towards the end of the shower Lonnie turned to me and asked for a card and said he had an idea and that he would be in touch. Not too long after the shower Lonnie gave me a call and explained what his idea was. His idea was to create a calendar for his wife for Christmas.

Not only did he just give me his idea but Lonnie came with it! He had everything prepared and well thought out of what he wanted and what he did not want. He had an idea of what he wanted for every month, the types of outfits he wanted to wear, and not to mention the type of shots he wanted captured as well. Which in turn made my job a little easier J. As we talked and planned out the sessions it was evident that this gift was truly from the heart of a man that is madly in love with his wife. Not only did I see the love in his actions to ensure that his wife had a unique and personal gift but I saw it during his sessions as well. During each session there was  just a bit of nervousness about if he was doing the right thing…gift wise, how he looked, what he thought he should wear in future shoots, what he looked like in the shots. Not only that, just as I was excited to edit the sessions for his review he was eagerly ready to see the outcome

During the preparation and the shoots Lonnie and I got to know each other pretty well. One of the things that stood out was that ‘Lovie Dovie’ look that he had on his face when we discussed how he and Lynn met, their relationship, what he loved about her, and  that first moment he knew she was the one.  I swear that look is the look that every woman will want from her man. It was a heart melt, puppy dog, in love look. From the session I saw what the love of a relationship looks like and I got some pretty good tips from Mr. Lonnie Malone himself!

It was so very hard to narrow down which photos to show because we took soooo many. So I am trying something new today and displaying the pictures for the Calendar Project in the video below. I hope that you enjoy and feel free to let me know what you think!

The Vreelands!

A beautiful Day for a beautiful family. I had the absolute pleasure of shooting the Vreeland’s this past Saturday…and let me tell you I had a great time with them. One of the highlights from the shoot was Miss Tori. She was truly my little helper during the shoot. Not only did she pick out locations where she wanted her pictures taken but she also directed her parents shots AND at the same time she was truly a model herself with a beautiful princess smile. Not once did she get tired, not once did she get upset but the whole time she showed what a beautiful child she was inside and out.

Now I can’t focus completely on Miss Tori, although she stole the show, but I have to turn attention to her parents Jeff and Jenny who are truly a set of great parents. They were as easy going as easy going could be and they were truly a pleasure to work with. Thank You Jenny and Jeff for entrusting me with your family pictures! I hope that you enjoyed the session just as much as I enjoyed capturing the moments of your family….Without further pause I present to you…The Vreelands!

I had to take this opportunity to blog about something that I am very thankful for…a true friend….

Some of the qualities that a true best friend has:

  • One that is always there for your ups and down
  • One that you can confide in on ANYTHING
  • One that you can learn from about life
  • One that you can learn from about yourself
  • One who keeps it real
  • One that doesn’t sugar coat the truth but gives it to you straight (no matter how it comes out…lol)
  • One that will give her last for you
  • One that has endured the test of time no matter what cycle your friendship goes through
  • One that challenges you and pushes you out of your norm
