Can you guess what this is ???

It is colorful, it blooms, it smells great, it attracts big bumble bees, multiplies every year, and they have grown as tall as me….(yes I am a little on the short side :-) )

It is a……Lilly!!

The one thing I love about flowers are the different angles and the different looks that you can photograph.I can never get tired of photographing flowers…. It is truly a treat to photograph them as they bloom every year. Each year they grow taller and taller and each year they multiply. This year I believe I am up to 100 Lillies where I started with 6 small ones! So of course I take advantage of the photo ops every year. I hope that you all enjoy this weeks post :-) Till next week!

This time last year I was getting ready for my trip to Greece….which may I add was one of the best trips ever. On that trip I literally walked all over Santorini and Athens, in and out of every store that sold the small statues, looking for this particular type statue. The difference between this statue and all of the other statues that I saw was that this one was made with a particular quality. Now that I look back on the memories of that trip, I am very happy that I took the time to search high and low for this one souvenir. It holds a certain sentimental value :-)

I hope that you all have enjoyed this weeks post :-) . I believe I will post a few pictures from my trip to Greece in the upcoming weeks….this will give me the motivation to finish editing all of the pictures…lol

Another week, another flower…I love Spring and the fresh blooms…I love freshly bloomed flowers because they are just naturally beautiful and they hold a certain mystery to the normal non scientific person of how they grow and become so beautiful from the inside out….Sorta like life eh? The beauty is always inside of you and as you live life you just continue to bloom…Just like a flower, your beauty shines :-)

One of my favorite things about spring are all the beautiful flowers that bloom. It’s the perfect time to take out the macro for some macro fun. This week I took a picture of a flower on my Uncle’s deck…it’s always fun to get the many angles of one single flower. Hopefully as my flowers begin to bloom I will be taking a few more..

For some reason I have this weird fascination with railroad tracks…Why? I really can’t tell you but I think they are so cool. While out on a session this week, I snapped a quick shot of this railroad sign…I am curious to know what those numbers are for… :-)

It’s always funny how time changes things….

This week I visited my Aunt and Uncle in Charlotte, NC. I remember one of my uncle’s prized possessions was always his pool table. I remember when I visited them in the summers, this pool table would always be covered up…for safe keeping. I remember we were always told to be careful around the pool table. We would actually sneak to play with the pool balls when no one was around…. Now some 20 years later the table wears no cover and is always open for playing…especially for my little cousins age 5 and 7 (their grandchildren)…Oh how time changes!

oh, and before I forget….just in case you did not guess last weeks picture…it was… the tip of a pool stick!

Can you guess what this is??? I will give you a hint…it is NOT a cigarette :-) This week I pulled out the macro for some good ole Macro fun. I am always amazed at how differently things look up close and personal. Please share your best guess as to what this is a picture of….I will give the answer in next weeks post :-)

Week 3 …My dad is finishing up work on his truck. I could not pass up the opportunity to get inside his old car while he was outside working on his truck. In addition to the 1978 Ford truck, my dad has a 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu. Currently and for the last 20 years it just sits…and sits. Although it has sat for so long I have fond memories from when I was a kid.

I remember my dad used to have it fixed up so beautifully….he had rebuilt the engine and everything. The thing I remember the most was how loud the engine was…I swear you could hear it coming from blocks away…It had that muscle car sound…At one time I used to look around embarrassingly as I waited at the bus stop for him to pick me up…until one of my friends from the neighborhood said how cool it was. From that point forward I felt like the cool kid waiting to be picked up in the muscle car.LOL. Ohhh the memories!

By now you have to have guessed that one of the biggest loves of my life is Photography! :-) well there is also another love…and that is…Books! I love love love to read. I can pick up a book in the AM and get so engrossed in it that by the end of the day I look up and around and realize that the whole day has gone by and that I have finished the book. I always love a good book.

My love for reading started in the 5th grade when my aunt gave me my first book to read. The book was called ‘There is a Boy in the Girl’s Bathroom’ (LOL). I remember reading not only that but Nancy Drew books, The Babysitters Club,and Judy Bloom. It did not take me long to get through all of those…before long I was reading Danielle Steel, Sidney Sheldon, and Mary Higgins Clark in the 6th grade. Reading is truly a love that also helps me to relax and escape to the fantasy world.

Now a days, I love to read James Patterson, Micheal Connolly, Lee Child, Eric Jerome Dickey and anything else that I can get my hands on that is drama filled and action packed. I hope that you enjoy this weeks picture in my 52 week project. Feel free to comment below with any recommended books. I am always looking for a good read!

Week 2 – My Dad is still working on his truck.

I remember as a kid, while my dad worked on his truck, I would always climb behind the wheel and ‘act’ like I was driving…lol. My feet could never reach the petal but I always had a good time trying!

Now at least 20 years later on this pre spring day, I wandered outside to keep him company and just like when I was a kid I climbed behind the wheel as I talked to my dad. My attention was eventually drawn to the speedometer where I saw 74,000+ miles. I thought to myself…This couldnt be right because after all this is my dad’s 1978 Ford F100 truck…so of ocurse, I asked him about it. As it turns out this speedometer has been turned 4 times throughout the years…so in reality it has gone around 296,000 miles over the years….. and it is still kickin…
